In honor of Women's History month, this month's show features Women in Technology.

Hello everyone, and welcome to DigitalSistas.net, a Professional Organization for African American Women in Technology and New Media. This On and Off-Line Community has been created to respond to the growing needs of African American women throughout the industry.

Please join us in our effort to link Sistas up around the world. Your participation in DigitalSistas.net will enable us to support, educate, and share resources to nurture our professional development.

Interested Sistas are invited to serve on Special Interest Group (SIG's) currently being established for the Channels. The SIGs will examine industry trends and address issues African American women face in digital media and technology.

We want to hear from you, and get your input. Articles on specific industry areas, issues and tips are invited. Is there someone you know who's contributions to the industry or community has been significant? Nominate her for our DigitalSistas.net Spotlight. How about jobs and business opportunities? Send them in. Check out the site. See where you fit in, and join us as we work together to increase the dialogue and opportunity.

Our goal is to establish national and local chapters and programming -- to stimulate interaction through coordination of discussion groups, submission of articles, interviews and development of on and offline activities to accomplish specific objectives identified by you. To reach those who are interested in, or planning careers in technology and new media, but are not online, we have established DigitalSistas-Unplugged.

So join us as we move forward in the 21st Century. Assure that our voices are heard, our perspective acknowledged. And, make sure that those who come behind us have the where with all to make it in tomorrow's society.
