In honor of Women's History month, this month's show features Women in Technology.

Over the past few years, we’ve met and overcome numerous obstacles, and landed on our feet.  One of our founding members, Bernadine Hawes, has moved on to other things, and the mother and daughter team, Carole and Narissa, are picking up the threads of what we hope to weave into a network of women of African decent around the world through DigitalSistas.net – native-born Africans, African Americans, Afro-Caribbeans, Afro Hispanics, and Afro Europeans.

Quite a mixture we are.  One size will certainly not fit all.  But, there are kindred spirits among us.  Many work in similar industries, face similar challenges and will be able to learn from one another.  Some of us are risk takers, want to do new and different things and will enjoy sharing and hearing about them.  And, some of us focus on home and the community and can provide information and resources to promote stability and harmony.

To obtain input from all these sectors in our network, we are reaching out to our friends, associates and colleagues - like you - to contribute and share your knowledge and experience on the DigitalSistas.net website.  Through our collective input, we can support one another in our personal and professional growth and development as we move into a 21st century – a society and economy that is fraught with a multitude of challenges and opportunities.

Your input will provide guidance on this journey.  Please tell us what you’d like to see on this site – areas of interest, knowledge gaps you’d like to fill, resources you’d like to see – and the types of things you can contribute.  You can be sure that some DigitalSista out there shares your interest or concern.

To assist you in reaching your career and business objectives, DigitalSistas.net has partnered with CareerBuilders.com and we are negotiating with other companies to provide other employment opportunities in the tech industry.  Please stay tuned, and grow with us as we move forward in developing this on-line resource for African American Women in New Media & Technology.

Please send your comments, questions, articles, etc. to carole@digitalsistas.net.
