Bernadette Givens-Ahmaddiya
Partner
Urban Recruiters, Inc.

Bernadette Givens-Ahmaddiya has an extensive background in both technology and technical recruiting. She has worked in Information Technology for nearly two decades starting as a Systems Engineer with the IBM Corporation in Philadelphia. While at IBM, she specialized in large and mid-range platforms, client/server, CICS and DB2/SQL, IBM's relational database management system, holding many management positions including Systems Engineering Manager, Marketing Manager and Consultant.

In 1994, Ms. Givens-Ahmaddiya joined Pro Search, Inc., a professional IT search firm in Conshohocken, PA, as an Account Executive/IT Recruiter. While there, she developed such clients as J. P. Morgan, Prudential, Andersen Consulting, The University of Pennsylvania, MBNA and other major Fortune 500 companies.

Recruited by SCT (Systems and Computer Technology) as Director of Recruiting in 1995, she developed a business process for recruiting that has become standard practice, a commission and bonus plan for the recruiters and internet recruiting. In 1997, she joined SemCo Enterprises, a company that provides technical training and materials to non-technical professional, as a Senior Consultant. In this position, she traveled throughout the US and Canada teaching Computers: Systems, Terms and Acronyms, Technical Update and Technical Recruiting seminars.

In 2001 Ms Givens-Ahmaddiya joined Urban Recruiters, Inc as a partner. Urban Recruiters, Inc. specializes in business development and the recruitment and placement of IT professionals. She has a BA degree in Psychology from Temple University and is pursuing a MBA from Widener University. She is currently affiliated with DVTRN and BDPA.
