(Philadelphia,
PA) - Brenda J. Wright of Wyncote, the former Director
of PECO Energy Company's Corporate Information Systems
Division, has been appointed Vice President for Information
Systems and Telecommunications at Community College
of Philadelphia. Among her numerous duties, Wright will
direct the College's Computer Center, which provides
both administrative and academic computing services
for faculty, students, and administrative offices; plan
and design telecommunications and call management systems,
as well as plan and evaluate computing capabilities
as they relate to the College's long-term strategic
plan.

Wright brings to our College an extensive background
in the information technology arena that spans more
than two decades as well as an impressive track record
as a creative manager and an effective team leader.
We look forward to the contributions that she will make
to our College as we implement the many complex components
associated with our new technology plan," said
Stephen M. Curtis, President of Community College of
Philadelphia.
Wright's background in the field of information technology
includes strategic planning, workforce planning, operations,
process reengineering, infrastructure design and software
development life cycle methodology. Her accomplishments
in the area of Operations include design and construction
of LAN/WAN infrastructure for a new multi-million dollar
headquarter campus for GENCO, management of a multi-million
dollar IT contract portfolio, and establishment of IT
preferred vendor contracts which resulted in multi-million
dollar annual savings.
Throughout
her career, Wright has received numerous honors and
awards for her exemplary contributions. Most recently,
the City of Philadelphia and the prestigious PECO Chairman's
Award recognized her effective management of operations
and services teams to meet Y2K commitments for the Network
Operating Center and citywide telecommunications.
Wright's previous appointments include: IT Manager of
PECO Energy Power Generation Group, Senior Systems Analyst
position at Shared Medical Systems, three successive
administration positions at Independence Blue Cross
as Systems/Methods Analyst, Senior Systems/Methods Analyst,
and Senior Business/Systems Analyst. She also served
in a series of progressively responsible systems analyst
positions in corporation systems development for Reliance
Insurance Company.
Wright
has an M.B.A. from West Chester University and a B.A.
from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana.
