Understanding the Personal Digital Assistant Craze
The 'PDA'

In my opinion the best thing about the Palm is the options it offers. There are thousands of developers that have created applications for you to truly personalize your Palm. I was even able to get the "Franklin Planner" software for my Palm and continue to enjoy the same planning formats. The Palm lets you communicate quickly and effortlessly. You can download e-mail from your PC and take it with you or you can "beam" (send using inferred beams) your business card and other information to another PDA user.

Powerful, sleek, yet simple. The Palm has several versions for every need and lifestyle. If you're looking for a great value with simple functionality them consider the Palm m100 or Palm IIIxe. If you prefer to live life in vivid color than the Palm IIIc will be the PDA to choose. Perfect for the minimalist, the sleek, ultra-slim Palm V and Palm Vx are great companions. You can put the world in your pocket, and get wireless Internet access with the Palm VIIx.

Of course with the birth of Palm came other off-springs, the Handspring 's "Visor", "Cassiopeia" by Casio, and "IBM WorkPad" are just a few of the PDA's you can choose from, many are compatible with the Palm. The Palm is a real asset to anyone who wants to keep lots of information in the palm of their hands (no pun intended) From spreadsheets to marketing plans this device lets you travel with documents that were once only available on your PC.

There is a wealth of knowledge that can be put into your Palm to make life easier and just a bit more interesting. If you're a bartender or just like to impress your friends with cool concoctions then check out "Drinks" at www.handango.com. For the fitness professional or the health conscious consider adding the "DietLog" to your Palm and track your eating habits, create diets or chart your progress at www.dietlog.com. For the preacher, teacher, or those of us who want to carry the Good Book in our hands as well as our hearts you can down load a free copy of the bible. It'll require at least 1.2MB of memory so make sure you have enough space or consider a particular section in a smaller version. You'll find this and loads of other great stuff at www.handango.com.

There are also some very useful accessories that can be purchased for your PDA. If you want data entry options consider the "GoType" keyboard, go to www.landware.com , or add the "goVox" digital voice recorder that lets you record 8 minutes or 99 messages.
You can express your individuality and personal style by adding a colorful faceplate (Palm m100 only) or a carrying case. Everyone from the classic leather maker "Coach" to the rough and rugged titanium case manufacturer "RhinoSkin" offer cases in all versions and size.
So, come on, join the collective. Resistance is futile. PDA's are here to stay!
